Vikings Rugby Academy

The Vikings Rugby Academy has been making an impact on the KZN South Coast since its inception in 2006. We are aligned with the vision of the South African Government Department of Sports and Recreation which is to develop “An Active and Winning Nation”.

What sets us apart from other sports academies is our broader community-building component and our aim of developing young men who will not only have career opportunities in sports, but will also be motivated to uplift their local communities in the future. We believe that developing community builders is the most powerful indicator of a successful program.

Players participate in a structured physical and academic program and have the option of taking up accommodation on site if needed. In addition to the normal day to day programme, Vikings players are involved in club rugby to get opportunities for selection to Provincial sides. They also do soccer and rugby coaching at schools and support local government sports initiatives.

Vikings attracts young men from all walks of life. This factor alone results in life changing experiences for the players. They work as a closely knit team and grow tremendously as individuals.
