Genesis Early Childhood Development (ECD) Program

Our Vision

Genesis ECD programme aims to support creches in the rural areas of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality through providing training to teachers and resources and ongoing support to help them develop and prepare children for school.

What it the Genesis ECD Programme?

Genesis ECD programme is a programme that provides training, resources and support to 113 creches in the rural areas of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality. The creche teachers received training on a programme called brainboosters which teaches colours, shapes and numbers. They then received a bucket of toys on colours, shapes and numbers. Support visits are provided to the creches after training to help them implement the programme in their creches.

The brainboosters programme is no longer available due to closure of the company but the Genesis ECD programme has created its own kit which still consists of toys on colours, shapes and numbers. Of the 113 creches, 36 creches have a small donor, ALPHA projects, who is supporting them. The donor provides continued support to the 36 creches through training, providing resources and support visits. The Genesis ECD programme also provides support to creches through random donations like toys, furniture, stationery, porridge, small building projects and the like.

Our Mission

Our mission is to continue providing support to the ECD centres through training, providing resources and support visits to help them implement the programme at their creches, develop and grow and also ensure that children are well prepared for school. If teachers are well trained and supported children are better prepared for school. We want to ensure that a good foundation of education is laid to ensure the success of children at school. Our goal is to equip and train all staff members at the ECD centres in order to make that they are all ready to part take in the laying of a good foundation of education.
