Our Mission

Genesis Music Academy is located in the heart of Marburg, Murchison and Boboyi. The surrounding, poverty stricken, communities are in desperate need of a safe place to send their children, to engage in healthy recreational activities. When they cannot come to us, we go to them. It is our goal to use music, not only to encourage the hurting, lonely and troubled people of our community, but also to unlock their God given potential in the musical arts, and, to allow for creative, safe ways to deal with aggression, depression, and loss.

We saw a Need

Many of our youth are exceptionally talented but aren’t able to develop these gifts ,and grow their talents, due to their desperate economic circumstances. In an area where children may be fortunate enough to eat one basic meal a day, having access to a musical instrument is an absolute privilege.

Music is a unique way of communicating, that can inspire and motivate people of all ages and all backgrounds. It is a wonderful vehicle for helping students feel part of a community. It also serves to keep children and youth active and safe, away from the possibilities of participating in drugs, alcohol and crime. We train, equip and mobilise musicians and singers to be used for the glory of God, in their respective churches.

Extend a helping Hand

The Genesis Music Academy extends a helping hand into the lives of local people in an artistic and innovative manner. Musicians, established or aspiring, who would otherwise never have the opportunity to study or improve their skills and talents receive training at our music academy. The proven benefits of music are a secondary benefit to those who find purpose, meaning, and an identity in our music rooms.

We provide opportunities for all to create, play, perform and enjoy music. We train, equip and mobilise musicians and singers to be used for the glory of God, in their respective churches.
