Reflecting on a trip to South Africa

What do you do the day after you get home from an epic mission trip to Africa…

You wake up at 3:30 you crawl out of bed at 4:30 after praying for an hour, you clean your kitchen, start a load of laundry, go outside, build a fire in the fire pit, talk to God some more, think about all the amazing relationships that you've gotten to experience in the last couple of weeks both with people that you traveled with and people that you saw there - listen to the peacocks, the rooster, the chickens and the geese flying over, eat a pancake express more gratitude to the Lord for His provisions, the relationships he puts in front of you and the growth you have to/get to endure through relationships or as I like to call it rubbing the barnacles off, which rarely feels good in the moment, reassess everything you said, or should've said, answer messages from the people you left behind there.

Think about all the things that you need to change here in order to live a life more on purpose.

Work in your flowerbeds, assessing the damage that the sun has done while you're away, keeping a wary eye out for the elusive snake… Which I guess sums up the whole thing

I need to keep my eye open for the snake, but keep my focus on Jesus. Carry on.
